Dizziness can appear at any time, including when fasting. Dizziness can be caused by various things including lack of fluid, low blood pressure, migraines, and so on. One of the fastest ways to handle dizziness is to take medicine, but you have to find another way to overcome it, especially in the month of Ramadan.
Here are 10 ways to prevent dizziness when fasting so you can move normally.
1. Sahur with enough carbohydrates
At Sahur, you might think that a high carbohydrate menu will provide enough energy for the event that day. However, consuming too much carbohydrates and will really make you hungry during the day.
Carbohydrates can be processed quickly by digestion. Thus, carbohydrates will also disappear quickly according to the energy provided. Therefore, the sahur menu must remain balanced and does not emphasize high carbohydrate intake.
2. Consumption of adequate nutritional intake
When fasting, calories can reduce and cause a calorie deficit. This will cause you to lose muscles and energy loss for activities. For that, you must get enough protein at sahur and when breaking fast.
You can get protein from chicken, fish or meat. Proteins will be processed slower than carbohydrates and will provide the energy needed to stay active throughout the day.
3. Avoid eating too much when breaking the fast
After fasting all day, you might have many desires to eat various foods. Eating too much in breaking fast will really make your digestive work hard and exhausted.
Eating too much will also make you feel full faster, so you might not feel the need for sahur. In fact, sahur is still needed to prepare the body to get energy during the day.
4. Drink enough water at night
Even though fasting, you still have to get enough mineral water. Dehydrated light body will tend to feel dizzy, especially when fasting.
Consumption recommended mineral water for adults when fasting is 8 glasses or 2 liters. This recommendation can be divided easily into 2 cups at dawn, 2 cups open, and 4 glasses at night. It doesn't hurt to drink less than recommendations.
5. Select the complex carbohydrate menu on sahur
Complex carbohydrates are more recommended than ordinary carbohydrates because they will make you full for a longer time because they are digested slowly. Types of high carbohydrates are good for digestion.
Some menus that can provide complex carbohydrates are red rice and whole wheat bread, oatmeal, or other food containing wheat.
6. Avoid drinking tea at dawn
One way to prevent dizziness during fasting is to avoid tea at dawn. Drink lots of tea in times of dahur different from mineral drinking water.
Tea can make you urinate often and mineral salts needed for energy. As a result, you will feel more weak and dizzy when fasting because your mineral needs are not fulfilled.
7. As much as possible do not heat
So fasting is not limp and dizzy, you have to keep your body temperature calm and cool. Hot weather or too hard activities will make you sweat too much and lack of water.
Therefore, you must get enough air circulation if you are in an active room. Be sure to rest and take shelter if you are outdoors.
8. Get enough sleep
Sleep deprivation can make you dizzy during the day, it can even trigger other diseases such as headaches.
